Moving a load

A Belgian railway operator contacted us in relation to a loaded wagon regarding which a defect had been found. The load needed to be transferred to another wagon.

The faulty wagon was loaded with steel rollers weighing 30 metric tons. The RSN team went to site and the customer brought a spare wagon that was positioned just next to the faulty wagon. In two hours, the load had been transferred using a hydraulic crane. Subsequently, the required parts for the faulty wagon were ordered and replaced.

For the same railway operator, the damaged wheelsets of a container carrier wagon were replaced in Montzen (where three countries meet: Belgium/The Netherlands/Germany). New wheelsets were taken to site by using our truck with a hydraulic crane. The load (a 40 ft container) was lifted from the wagon, the faulty wheelsets were replaced and the container was then positioned on the wagon.
