Shunting and Inspections
Shunting and Inspections
We provide the necessary personnel to assist your train drivers with all your shunting operations, such as delivering and collecting wagons, assembling freight trains, and removing defective wagons. Where necessary, a limited technical inspection is carried out, and assistance is provided for performing a brake test.
A shunter is tasked by the railway company with completing the set, shunting in reserve wagons, and shunting out defective wagons. They position wagons for loading or unloading and are responsible for correctly positioning various switches. To perform their duties effectively, optimal communication between the shunter and the driver is essential.
RSN provides shunters to various railway companies, such as Medway, Crossrail, RailTraxx, HSL, and TCA Rail. At RSN, wagons are also shunted in and out by a shunter. Learn more about our services here.
